Itty Bitty pieces of shell are inlaid in black resin, mimicking the barnacle encrusted bodies of Maui’s most favorite mascot, the Humpback whale! During the winter months of December-April, the leeward waters of Maui County house the world's densest humpback whale population. Every year, over 10,000 humpbacks annually migrate to the warm, shallow waters of Maui, and create thunderous splashes and aerial performances not seen in other species of whales. They are the most magical and awe-inspiring of creatures and each year, we are renewed when they return- it never gets old. We love how these frames commemorate these glorious creatures!
