Modeled after a market square, a traditional gathering place where folks come to find everything; offerings from local artisans and farmers to innovative ideas and just-can’t-live-without-it stuff, Banana Wind offers the exciting experience of shopping a Polynesian trading post. Perfect for gift giving or putting that special touch in your own home, Banana Wind offers a treasure trove of tropical home accessories.  The store is designed as a collection of different booths and stands awaiting discovery. Each item is displayed with a little sign telling its story—where it was found, what makes it unique,
the materials it’s made from, or simply why we love it. And if you want, we can tell you more!
Our owners, Patrick and Nina Mehring, had a dream to take their family across the South Pacific and scout for treasures.  They bring back more than just fresh finds—most of which are not found anywhere else on Maui or are Banana Wind exclusives—they have infused the store with the breezy, relaxed attitude of the tropics. 
From the infectious world beat rhythms that fill the air to the playful Banana Heads upstairs (you’ll just have to visit and ask!) to our enthusiastic staff who love to share their favorite discoveries with you, Banana Wind is a shopping experience like no other.
